Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement

These Terms & Conditions are designed to be clear and fair. Please take a moment to read them. If anything is unclear, please feel free to ask.

These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between Rabab Sehr, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, trading as Rabab Speech Therapy (“the Therapist”) and the client/parent/carer (“the Client”). They outline expectations, responsibilities, and arrangements for the provision of speech and language therapy services.

2. Scope of Service

The Therapist provides assessment, therapy, reports, and professional liaison as agreed. All services are individualised and guided by clinical judgement, client need, and evidence-based practice.

The Therapist works in accordance with HCPC standards and relevant professional guidelines.

Therapy outcomes vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

Any changes to the agreed service will be discussed and confirmed in advance.

3. Services & Fee

Service & What’s Included

  • Initial Consultation A free short telephone consultation to understand needs and discuss suitability for therapy

  • Speech & Language Assessment (Children)£180 Up to 1.5 hours including assessment, parent discussion, goals, and written report

  • Therapy Session (Children) £70 45–60 minutes. Individualised therapy with parent involvement

  • Review Assessment (Children) £120 60–90 minutes. A review is offered after a block of therapy to assess progress and plan next steps. A short written report is provided. If a detailed report from the last 3 months already exists, a review session may replace the initial assessment at the start of therapy 

  • Speech & Language Assessment (Adult Stammering)£180 Comprehensive assessment including case history, analysis, and therapy planning

  • Therapy Session (Adult Stammering)‍ ‍£70 45–60 minutes. Structured, evidence-based fluency therapy

  • Nursey Visit £90 Up to 60 minutes, including observation of play and interaction, followed by guidance shared with staff

  • Additional Professional Time £85 per hour Reports, meetings, liaison with schools or professionals

  • Travel (Home Visits) First 5 miles included Additional mileage may charge

4. Payment

Fees are payable by bank transfer unless otherwise agreed.  

Assessment fees are payable in advance to secure your appointment.

Therapy sessions (pay-as-you-go) must be paid within 24 hours of invoicing, unless agreed otherwise.

Therapy programmes must be paid in full in advance of the first session. Sessions are then reserved for you.

Additional services (e.g. reports, meetings, liaison with other professionals) will be agreed in advance and invoiced separately.

Late payment may result in therapy being paused until payment is received.

Clients using private medical insurance remain responsible for full payment of invoices. It is the Client’s responsibility to check their level of cover and reclaim fees directly from their provider.

5. Cancellation & Attendance

  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

  • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full.

  • Missed appointments (non-attendance) will be charged in full.

  • Late arrival may result in a shortened session; the full fee will still apply.

  • For therapy programmes, missed or late-cancelled sessions will be deducted from the programme.

  • Repeated cancellations or non-attendance may result in discharge from the service

  • Sessions should not be attended if the child is unwell. Where possible, please inform the Therapist as early as possible. In cases of illness, a session may be rearranged at the Therapist’s discretion.

  • The Therapist will provide as much notice as possible if a session needs to be rearranged. Sessions cancelled by the Therapist will not be charged.

  • In exceptional circumstances, discretion may be applied at the Therapist’s judgement.

6. Consent, Information Sharing & Safeguarding

  • Consent is obtained prior to assessment and/or therapy

  • Information may be shared with relevant professionals with written consent

  • Liaison with services (including NHS teams) is recommended to support effective care

  • Information may be shared without consent where required for safeguarding or legal reasons

7. Confidentiality & Data Protection

  • Personal data is handled in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Only relevant and necessary information is collected and stored securely. Clients have the right to request access to, or correction of, their data.

  • Full details are outlined in the Privacy Policy.

  • The Therapist may use secure digital tools, including AI-assisted notetaking, to support accurate and efficient record-keeping. No recordings are stored or shared without appropriate safeguards, and all data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR and the Privacy Policy.

8. Communication

  • Communication may take place via email, phone, or video. While reasonable steps are taken to ensure data security, email communication cannot be guaranteed to be fully secure. By using email, the Client accepts this risk.

9. Teletherapy

  • Online sessions are delivered via secure platforms.

  • For children, a responsible adult must be present during sessions.

  • Clients are responsible for ensuring access to appropriate devices, internet connection, and a suitable environment.

10. Observation & Training

  • From time to time, student therapists or professionals in training may observe sessions.

  • Explicit consent will always be requested. The Client has the right to decline or withdraw consent at any time.

11. Responsibilities

The Therapist will:

  • Provide evidence-based therapy within their scope of competence

  • ‍Maintain HCPC registration, insurance, and professional standards

  • ‍Keep accurate and confidential record

The Client agrees to:

  • Attend sessions punctually

  • Provide accurate and relevant information

  • Inform the Therapist of any changes (health, education, or circumstances)

  • Support agreed therapy strategies between sessions

  • ‍ Ensure a suitable environment for sessions (particularly for home visits or teletherapy)

‍ 12. Safety (Home Visits)

  • The Therapist reserves the right to withdraw from or rearrange a session if the environment is deemed unsafe or unsuitable.

14. Ending Therapy

  • Either party may end therapy with written notice.

  • The Therapist may discharge a client where

    • Therapy goals have been achieved

    • Therapy is no longer clinically appropriate

    • There is repeated non-attendance or non-engagement

    • Any outstanding fees remain payable.
